Where We Are

We are situated in the village of Boat of Garten, 5 miles north of Aviemore, on Sustrans Route 7, a section of the long-distance cycle route from Land's End to John O' Groats. Our shop also lies on The Speyside Way, a long-distance walking route of 65 miles running from Buckie on the shores of the Moray Firth on the NE coast, to Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park. Our shop at the Steam Railway Station in Boat of Garten is beside the Boat Hotel and restaurant, with its good, friendly service. In addition, there are two excellent restaurants and a cafe in the village, with two well-stocked grocery shops and the Post Office. Come and browse in the shop, and on a fine day sit outside in the community gardens with its wide array of alpine and woodland plants, watching the steam trains stopping at the station. Why not take bikes on the steam train to Aviemore or Nethybridge and cycle back at your own pace! There is plenty of space for bikes in the guards van. Steam trains run from Aviemore to Boat of Garten and Broomhill (Nethybridge), from April to the end of October.
